There’s this feeling I sometimes get watching humans do the cool things that humans have been doing for thousands of years. It makes my chest expand and my heart thud and I love it. I love this.
hooooooo the comments say it’s cgi and I must admit I was dubious of the physics but I’m on mobile and I go off certain kinds of context cues really intensely so the shakycam and the natural movements of the bystanders got me and I was like “huh I wonder why I haven’t seen these before. must be in Russia or some other country where there’s fewer safety regulations I guess”

What gets me is that initial pause. The bird knows this song. He knows when the drum comes in. Being able to anticipate musical rhythm is a form of intelligence very few species have, and this is the most remarkable example of it I’ve ever seen in a bird. The cockatoo knew to wait for the drums.
